Default Scrap happy

Some time ago I made the Wheels Quilt out of my Aunt Gracie collection.

http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t183834-3.html

I had a bucket full of scraps that I was going to dump. Somehow I just didn't do it lol....then one rainy day, I dumped the bucket on the floor and started to sort through it. I picked out the larger pieces and proceed to make random blocks out of Block Base, that I also posted somewhere. I made a butterfly, the fish block, a snails trail, 9 little monkey wrenches that I put into on large block. Then I took all the bits and peices and just sewed them any which way and inserted a block here and there.

I like this little quilt and I am so glad that I didn't dump the scraps. I have quilted it and did the binding just now. It measures 51x61, a good lap throw.

Love it! This feels like pieced blocks that were dropped onto a floor covered with any-which-way scrap pieces, random and wonderful.

It's wonderful!
Love the 9 patch of mini Churn Dash blocks and that red inner border.
It really pops.

Thank you Guys. I can't believe the scraps we used to throw away. We threw away quilts lol. The churn dash blocks started to be a quilt for the puppies and like anytime I do little blocks, I soon get enough of it lol, and used them in something else. The same thing happened to the Dear Jane blocks and the farmer's wife blocks lol...

When I look at this little quilt, I remember some of the old quilt that I have seen and they were all out of scraps, any which way. Women used whatever they could find and in the end it's a work of love and art.

When I did the Wagon Wheel quilt, I made a lot of mistakes with the cutting but I used all those piece sup in this little quilt so nothing went to waste.

What a great quilt! Love the repro prints. Bet you are glad you didn't throw the scraps away? You did such a good job of making several blocks.
