Just wanting tips on how everyone chooses there quilt designs? I'm hand quilting and getting ready to do my forth quilt and I keep trying new things. My next one is a halloween quilt and I thought about a haunted house scene and bats around the border. Is it too much??? its a rail fence pattern I believe. I'm half happy with my third project but it's almost done. Any suggestions would be great!

Pic is dark its much brighter...Halloween Quilt

This is a wonderful halloween quilt. I think it sounds like you have a great pattern idea. Go for it and please show pics when you are done. Thank you for sharing.

Love your halloween quilt but It is not a rail fence pattern. I think the borders with bats will look just fine on this quilt. I hope I am not confused with what you are going to do and this quilt.

the idea for a haunted house and bats and other things to be quilted in you quilt is a great one. However like Lindsey said, I don't beleive it is a rail fence but I do like it.

Wow,great quilt! I love the bats in the border idea, but I'm wondering if your haunted house will actually show up. The fabric is so vibrant. What color thread were you planning on? It would need to be highly contrasting. Maybe do a bit of test quilting on a scrap sandwich that's made up of all the fabrics, or how about a mug rug. That way you could see if all your hard work will pay off or get lost in the top.
