My group used to exchange gifts more often (we get together more frequently now) we have exchanged dish towels, pincushions, water bottle holders, totes, wallets, triangle pouches, sewing machine mats, scissor pocket/pouch, needle cases, card wallets … have fun!

Great ideas. I want to make something for my friends. I haven't seen them for a while and we are getting ready to meet up in July.

I keep planning to make those rice-filled bags that you microwave and put over tired muscles.

Also, "runaround bags" by Lazy Girls have been very popular gifts. I made 6 for my SIL to give as gifts to friends.

If they quilt or sew the thread catchers are handy.

I was trying to figure out something like this just yesterday. I wanted to watch a video on my cell phone while sewing but it was lying flat. I love this idea!

Sewshecan just posted a cork wallet this morning that would be a cute idea for credit cards, business cards, cash, etc.

At a quilting retreat recently, we all made a fabric basket from two coordinating fat quarters. Since the pattern only took half a fat quarter each, we got two bags from it. It was quite easy and you can sew them very quickly. The baskets were sort of square and you could use them to hold cosmetics, for a little wastebasket while sewing, little tools, etc...
