I have just started a japanese chain quilt which I am making for a very dear friend of mine.I was going to sashiko stitch some japanese motifs onto some of the squares as the magazine said that these were included. Out of the 5 they supplied I can probably use three of them. As i have to do 49 squares I was hoping for a bit more variety.
Would any of you know of any websites that have japanese crests/motifs I can use? Alternatively a book with them in it. This is my first go at sashiko stitching so I am also interested in other patterns for sashiko.

I've just been looking at Japanese crests earlier today.

At the moment I'm contemplating buying what looks like a wonderful quilting book containing 30 patterns for Japanese Crest quilt blocks. And I'm sure the outlines for the patterns could be enlarged/made smaller for making a template for quilting outlines.

It's on Amazon, but I'm not sure how to do a link.

"Circles of The East: Quilt Designs From Ancient Japanese Family Crest", by Kumiko Sudo.

Hope it's what your're looking for.

Wow, shiboridragon could cost me an entire paycheck and I'd just be getting started. I loved just about everything.
