Default Need Opinions on Upgrading

I have a Tin Lizzie18 LS with grace frame. I wanted a to upgrade frame to a 12' frame. The dealer, yesterday said I could trade in my grace frame for the new Phoenix frame + $1800. This includes the longer wires for my Shirley Stitcher.

Or

I could trade in Lizzy and frame for Ansley26 DSL and Phoenix frame for $6249. 0% financing for 4 years.

$13999 for new setup
- $7750 for my setup

I paid $6500 for my setup 6 months ago.

Which deal would you take?

Have you called Grace? They have frames up to 122" ... and they may have a more cost effective upgrade path for you.

I am not familiar with the Ansley 26, but $13999 is pretty expensive for a hobby, though 26" sure would be fun.

that is much for the Ansley,,, you could by an 18 inch Gammill for less. But my local quilt shop has an Ansley. less than a year old. they are renting time on it. seams like a nice machine, but I am not sure about all the comercial use it will get. only time will tell. I have a Gammill and it is tough. Now, one thing I do remember, is the Ansley frame has legs in the middle that I tripped over, just walking behind (the pano side) the machine. I dont know what the Grace has, but a friend has one and it does go up to 112" and she likes it. google both and read as much as you can. good luck it is a tough dicission.

My quick search shows an Ansley 26 for $9500... A.Gammill 26 is actually a much more heavy duty machine and sells for 14,800 currently. A feature I don't hear mentioned much is that the Gammill tables are solid the entire length. Some of the pieced tables cause bumps to appear in your quilting. Just a thought. Good luck with your search!
