If you didn't catch my other post, this is the quilt I'm going to be making for a friend of the family who has cancer.

I'm having a bit of trouble picking out fabrics. I just went through a Hancock's Paducah catalog and didn't find a lot of fabrics that I found suitable. I did like the Floral Fusions by Robert Kaufman, but they're basically of the same fabric in different colors and I wonder if using them for the whole quilt might make it a bit bland or stale.

Think I need a little help on here. Any fabric suggestions?

what kind of home decorations and clothes does the friend like? the florals with a few solids would make a nice blended quilt and for some people that's the perfect look (those who wear neutrals more than bold colors). However, if the friend is bold and not afraid to stand out in a crowd, more solids or bold prints might be best.

why not the colors that its pictured here in? I think its beautiful

do you like the scrappy look? mix and match the same shade of greens, and yellows and whatever else color that it is. if you truly do it scrappy and not just change the fabric choice per block, it will be comfy, cozy and beautiful.

I love batiks, so I would be doing earth tones for a guy, brown, rust/orange, maybe some greens.

I think I wouldn't limit myself to one line or designer. First decide the two background colours. I love tan and navy for a man. Then decide the star colours based on that. Burgundies and dark greens are good. It doesn't matter to use a floral, but I use small floral prints when it's for a guy, and mix them with geometrics so they're not ALL floral
