Am making a crib quilt for a baby boy and the bright green fabric I liked has glitter on it. Besides getting on other fabric, will it hurt the baby? If so, guess I'll be looking for something else...

Is it shedding? is it scratchy?

If it is, I would use something else.

I'd worry about it getting in his eyes. If you prewash it, the loose stuff might all come off, but I'd be very careful about using it.

I don't think you want to take a chance of glitter getting in the baby's eyes. I have fabrics with glitter and they shed glitter everywhere no matter how many times they're washed.

He could also breathe it in - as could you when you sew with it. I don't think I would take the chance.

That's what I was thinking. Back to square one! Looks like a trip to get fabric in near future.

Just say NO to glitter and babies is my thinking.

I don't think I would use it on a baby quilt.

One fabric I absolutely will not use is anything with glitter or gold or silver. It just seems to cause more problems than the effect is worth. I am a big fan of the
Flower Faries and when the fabric came out I was in heaven. Then I saw it first hand and I was so disappointed. Glitter all over it and it is a really great line except for the glitter!
