Default need suggestions for a lap quilt

good morning-a dear friend is very sick with luekemia. he is a guitar player, and i have found some fun guitar prints. i need a quick and easy lap quilt pattern that will take advantage of the larger prints....quick because in all honesty, i do not know how much time i have to get the quilt to him...it's a kind of sooner the better situation.....

thank you all! (for some reason, my mind is drawing blanks on quilt ideas...)

if your print is such that you want to focus the fabric, warm wishes is quick and has the big block to show the fabric. don't know what size you need, but here are a couple of free patterns

A snowball alternated with 9 patch is good. You can make the snowballs whatever size you need to showcase the guitar and then cut the 9 patch to match in size.

Warm Wishes is a good suggestion. Decide on the size you want to cut your focus fabric, figure out the widths of your strips from there to get the correct width of the alternating blocks and sew strips together then cut. I think a lap size could be assembled in one or two days. Then just do a simple SITD for quilting.
Another option would be a 9 patch variation.
For one block
Cut 1 - 8 1/2" square of focus fabric
Cut 4 - 2 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangles
Cut 4 - 2 1/2" squares
This will make a 12 1/2" block, unfinished
It will work best if you alternate the rectangles and the 2 1/2" squares in half lights and half darks.
I'm assuming the print has a lot of different colors so you should be able to alternate the colors fairly easily.
PM me if you need more information
Good luck and I hope your friend does well in treatment.
