need suggestions
I am trying to decide on an easy pattern for a quilt for a soon to be married couple, I need simple yet elegant . But the colors need to be forest green and pink. I don't want it prissy looking so I need suggestions. Thanks so much for any help you can give me!!

I think my first order of business would be to go to the fabric store and find an exciting modern fabric that was primarily green and pink. If you can find that to start with, then any pattern would work. I think that the Shadowbox pattern could work well with the various pink rectangles and the dark green as the shadow. I would use a really light pink for the background or white?

with the huge variety of batiks available I'm sure you can find fabrics that aren't flowery or girlie or prissy. You might even find maybe a dozen greens and a dozen pinks you can use in a pattern.

Thanks for the suggestions! I looked at walmart today but did not see anything that had pink and green together. I am asking the bride to be to get me some paint sample strips in the colors she wants so I know more of the color scheme I need to work with.
Thanks again!!!

A deep forest blue-green and a deep rose would be lovely as the key colors and not girly. Batiks is a great suggestion. You do need to know the colors - green is a big place! Once you figure a number of colors you want to use, then you can worry about patterns, modern or classic. I doubt you will find a geometric or a floral in just the combo you need (I went through that with teal and peach last fall and it was a total waste of time - you may need to find complementary prints with a joining color. I ended up using a lot of cream background.)
sounds like a wonderful project - Good luck!

Rail fence is a favourite quicky and always pretty. Another quick favourite is a trip around the world - I like making it for wedding gifts and then include a note to explain that the centre block is always the home, no matter where our journeys take us.
