I'm sitting here tracing an individual apple core template, then a thought struck me is there somewhere out there in PC land that has a whole page of apple-cores that inter-connect to get better use out of my fabric? Thanks in advance! Dee

I don't know of any, but couldn't you cut them out of the fabric the same way they get sewn together? By that I mean to cut one standing vertically, and the next laying horizontally, then vertically, etc. The cuts might nest together in spite of the seam allowances being added, I'm thinking. Even if it doesn't nest together perfectly, it would surely be close and waste less fabric than cutting them individually all in the same direction.

I don't have any suggestions for you. I got the apple core die for my Go for Christmas but haven't used it yet. I assume there will be fabric wastage. On a side note, when I was trying to find you a solution using Google, I came across this great apple core pattern with a twist! Thought I would share!

I would be worried about a sheet where they all interconnect because one wrong snip and your have destroyed it. What if you made a pattern out of freezer paper, pinned a few layers together and then cut them out together. I have done it with applique pieces with success.

I took the pattern to the glass cutter and had a template made out of the same plexi as our quilting rulers. Then layered the different fabrics together and zipped around that template with one of the smaller rotary cutters. In no time I had lots of accurately cut apple cores cut and ready to work with.,

That's a nifty idea for an Apple Core. While I don't have the patience to hand piece an AC, you could use the same idea for something like a Tumbler... kinda cool.

I do this ALOT!!! I've even had them cut arcs and if I am doing a template pieced quilt. Keeps me from cutting the template plastic or the cardboard when I am cutting out my pieces. Keeps my pieces perfect and then they go together just as they are supposed to!
