I sent a block of the month frog block to my partner for that block. Yes, I have some left, but I'm keeping it. I never heard from my partner of the month.

It is called a "disappearing 9 patch" or "D9P".

If you do a search on here, you'll see several really good tutorials of how to do it.

http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-40144-1.htm is the one that I found to be the easiest.

I started out with 4" squares. I had the frogs in the outer corners, the yellow just in the center and the green in the "cross" of the 9 patch.

http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-78255-1.htm shows how to keep a directional print straight up and down also.

I'm a newbie to using patterns and this one seemed to be easy and make sense to me. I did find I had to square up each of the new blocks before I sewed them back together regardless of how carefully I made my seams. Guess my eyeballs are crooked.

Have fun ... if you have any questions, post a question or search the board and you'll find lots of helpful people.

The bubbles are cute...but I think the yellow pulls it all together. I love the quilt! :D

The yellow makes it all pop. If you wanted to make a thin border of the bubbles then add the yellow that would look great. Cute quilt.

Check out this link. There are lots of frog fabrics - 9 pages. Should be something there.

My voite is for the circles. It makes all of the colors in the froggie print pop. The yellow makes only the inner yellow stand out. My two cents. Love the quilt, such adorable froggies.
