Question Needing help finding a pattern...

I have had wonderful help finding patterns using this site before and I am needing your help again. I once saw a picture of a quilt somewhere that I'd like to make. However, every website I've checked for this pattern, I have not had any luck. I am once again asking the wonderful people at "Quilting Board" for some help.

I remember it as "Attic Windows" but all the attic Window patterns I find have 4 windows per 1 block. The one I saw, had only 1 window per 1 block. The window blocks were 9", I think. I pulled out all my books and recently received magazines and still have had no luck. There was one prefex picture in a book called "Cats in the Attic", but it had no pattern or link to find one.

I would appreciate any suggestions. :-)

If you're looking for just a block pattern (not a whole quilt):

CompuQuilt has one with the set-in Y seam that uses templates:

Be sure to click on the item labeled Nine Inch Template Attic Window.

And Quiltaholic has one without the Y seam (uses the half square triangle instead) called Easy Attic Windows at:

I have seen it in one of my old quilting mag's. I think I tore it out to keep. I will look for it and if I find it I will PM you. If I have it I will be happy to make a copy and send it to you.

You should be able to draw an attic windows pattern in any size. Get a square ruler and a piece of paper big enough and draw a square the finished size you want and then play with how big you want the square and the frame. When you decide on a proportion that looks good to you add 1/2 inch to each piece and cut scrap fabric and try it out. Then you'll have your own pattern exactly the size you want.

This is NOT exactly what you wanted but nice anyway, and the technique is well explained

I think this may be just what you need. It uses the HST method instead of the Y-seam method http://www.straw.com/equilters/libra...ticwindow.html
