No wonder I have been having stitch issues with my machine. I just discovered that the needle has shifted to the left. When I changed to the 1/4" foot the needle is so far to the left that it will break if I try to sew. Thinking that I had a bent needle I changed to a new one...same thing. Any ideas? or is it a repair shop issue?

My Babylock has a button to change the needle position. Does yours? Does that help?

The needle position is dependent on the stitch you choose. You have to look at your stitch chart or manual, but they usually have one in right left and center position for the straight stitch. I always have mine set to the center stitch on the espire for when the machine comes on. Does the quest have memory pocket because if so you can set it so that the stitch you want is what comes on when the machine comes on

I've got a little Babylock Sophia to take to classes and I've got the same issue with the quarter inch foot. The needle is so far to the left that it brushes the edge of the hole in the foot at the center patchwork setting. I talked to the shop where I bought it (I didn't have the machine with me when I went in) and they said to bring it in. They said this is not normal.

Thanks all. Your comments got me thinking. So I switched the machine off and then on again and the needle adjusted itself back to center. Silly computerized machine.

I was going to say that's not normal! I have a QP also. Maybe it got changed to another stitch, but it should go back to the default center needle position when you turn it on.
