Default Summer in the Park quilt questions... advice needed

Hi, I've sewn together all the tubes for a summer in the park quilt. I used this tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Co: http://quiltingtutorials.com/all/sum...t-jelly-rolls/ I'm stuck now because I can't figure out how to press it... in the video she said to press flat but what does that mean? To the white fabric, to the colored side, doesn't matter which side or does that mean press seams open? I'm also a bit confused on the cutting... I realize the 45 deg line goes on the bottom seam but is the top of the triangle cut to the top seam or the top of the fabric? Any help would be great, thanks!

Kelly, I hope I can be of some help to you. I didn't watch the entire video, but I have done "tube" quilts before. Not sure if there were 2 or 3 strips on each side -- really doesn't matter. Those will be pressed toward the darker fabric (the print in the video). THEN you sew the two different strip sets together on both the top and the bottom. This is what you will press flat, even though it is connected on both sides (the "tube). Now the cutting -- I take the ruler clear to the top of the fabric, though I'm thinking MSQ co told you to take it to the seam. It's not a big deal to rip out a couple of stitches. Since you are turning your ruler, your resulting squares will be different. DO be careful handling them as the edges are on the bias. Hope at least some of this helps. Linda in Missouri
