I had posted earlier about figuring out the size of needles. I ordered a 40X mini lighted magnifying glass from E-Bay for $10.00. It works. The size is very small on the needles, so this was my solution.

Yay!!! I'm glad you found something to help see those darn numbers on the needles. Now you don't have to throw them out and start over.

The size of the needle is actually ON THE NEEDLE??? I've been sewing for -- well, a long time -- and never knew that. Guess I'll have to get a magnifying glass, too.

I, too, never knew that. Where on the needle?

I too have a magnifying glass for this task. When I change needle size i I have one of those tomato pin cushions that w/ black magic marker I have marked needle sizes. 11's go in the 11 section, 14's in the 14 section . . .etc. Now all I have to do is check the needle size once and I when I need a different size I use one from the tomato!!
