I do this with the stuff you put under bowls and glasses to stop them from slipping. A bit cheaper than exercise bands at $2 per mat.

Shelf liners work wonderfully. I had a teacher recommend that to me before.

The shelf liner doesnt work under my foot control, it's on carpet and I chase that thing all over the floor. Gonna try the exercise band trick...just checked that out....it holds better than the shelf liner... It seems to hold to the carpet, but the control slips on the exercise band, I think if I added double sided tape to the bottom of the foot control that it will hold....Yep...thats the fix! WOOHOO, no more chasing that dang thing around, but it did give me a little stretching exercise...LOL

I never thought of using the exercise bands for fmq. I will have to get some. I WILL definetely try the rubber grippers from the dollar store. I actually use it in the drawers of my sewing desks to keep things from slipping and sliding around in the drawer. Thanks for sharing.
