Don't tell the quilt police but I usually bind and turn the entire binding to the back of the quilt. The front then has the appearance of no binding. However one of the exceptions is a quilt I just finished. Sorry for the quality of the photo.

Your quilt is exciting enough. Plain color borders are called for.

I think it's the dark blue that is weighing it down. Perhaps choosing one of the lighter colors would help, or as mentioned above, a bright airy print. I do like the first narrow border color tho.

I like it the way it is. The borders will be hanging over the edge I'd think and I think less is enough.

Just really beautiful ~ I would use a solid border {love the color pictured} but might double the width. I believe anything else would not do it justice.
