I have one too, I bought it in the 80's when I got my serger. The cool thing is the surface on the left will pull away from the machine and make a flat surface with the lower right hand surface.

Thanks so much for posting the photo - I'm going to keep my eyes open when I hit the thrift stores around here. It really looks practical.

It really is a cool table. I am going to hold on to it. Yesterday I came home with a Juki 2000 for piecing from now on and it already has the table extension so I won't need this table for that but for what I paid for it, it will be great to keep here just in case I have extra people sewing in my room. Right now I can fit about 3 people but this would be perfect for a 4th... and for retreats... I have had the quilting gods smile on me the past few days!

I know I saw another one recently at a different thrift store but I didn't get it. It's about 2" shorter than the rest of my tables but with the side raised up it's about an inch or so higher. I can live with that.

My gramma had one like that back in the sixties. Glad you like it.

I bought a table like that when I bought my first serger, still have the table. I have to be really careful when setting it up or putting it away. It is a real hand pincher!

You should have been wearing a mask when you bought that Bernina table for $20.00. Back in 1972 when my aunt gave me one as a gift the cost was $70.00. Yes, you have a real gem there. I use mine to this day. For my other machines I made an acrylic table that fits each machine and I have the machines on "personal" tables (adjustable ht.) available at Office Max. When working on a super large quilt, I use two - 2 ft x 4 ft foldable, adjustable tables and I have a dream work center for my large quilts that I can fold up and store in the closet between quilting sessiona. Yes, you have a real gem there!! Congratulations!!

The PVC pipe extensions would be the way to go. If there is housing construction going on your area, you =might be lucky enough to find some scrap pieces. PS - we just returned from a week at Gulf Shores - you all have a beautiful state & wonderful beaches. Enjoy your table.
