Default Q on Sashiko Machine

I like the look of the stitches the Sashiko Machine makes...but I have never seen how the stitching looks on the back. Does anyone out there have a Sashiko machine and can they post a picture of the back of the quilt?

Many thanks,
Janet

I've toyed with the idea of a Shashiko machine ever since I first heard about it. Can't afford one right now ($1,800++), but sure will add it to my bucket list. I did locate an online manual and captured but one picture of the underside of the stitch in a drawing which I'm attaching (or at least hope to attach) as a pdf. For my uses, I would use it on wall hangings, bags, etc., but probably not quilts unless the underside would be covered by an additional backing or some such. It sure has some beautiful designs though and I'd love to have one sitting on my tables.

you might find this review interesting. scroll way down and read especially the 5th comment by Katyluton -it's old, but still relevant. she comments on the look of the back side:

Thanks all...I would still like to see the back as I am not sure I could live with the look described.

I should perhaps just stitch with my usual machine using a 28wt. Aurifil to approximate this look.

I test sewed on the new model and the back looked fine to me. In fact I'm going to the shop this morning and will take a picture of the back. There is always a test sample in the machine for people to try. I believe the cost was over $2000 though.

I took the pictures but have no idea how to post the on this new format. I don't have a link that is asks for because they are my pictures, not online.

I tried the picture upload.

The test sandwich is one used by anyone that wants to try the machine. The tension needs adjusting.
