amma brought to my attention that along with the lined drawing being messed up I got all my blocks mixed up, too. Her rotary instructions should have the correct number of blocks. Give me a couple of days and I should come up with a chart with the correct blocks and pieces.

For a queen sized quilt, I go with a base top of 60x84. That is 5 x7 12" blocks or 35 blocks. Fits the top of the bed quite nice. Add a 12 inch border and you have 84x 108.

Might want to trim down the top and bottom borders to 8 inches. That makes the quilt top total 84x100.

Doable, looks great.

I like the red edging you have already. As to size, I would go with at least a queen. I have a standard double bed and that size quilt just doesn't have enough overhang, the queen size looks much better. However, I like the new quilted bedspreads and for those I get the double bed size. No matter, your design is terrific and I'm sure your friend will be thrilled to get this quilt.

With the 94x102 quilt wouldn't I get a queen sized quilt?

I'm playing around with the borders right now. I'm thinking about doing a thin red and black double border (three strips, two red and one black between them) and then the thick black border I already have.

Thank you so much for the directions for the Tsunami quilt. I hope to make one soon. It was a lot of work for those who helped and it is much appreciated.

Sweet! I'd like to see pictures when you get done...I'd love to see someone's interpretation of my design! :D

I don't think I'll be able to make this quilt. Just the cost of fabric is enough to keep me from making it---almost $50. I just don't have that kind of money right now. If I don't get started on it by next month I probably won't get it done in time for Deni's birthday and I certainly can't make a quilt without the materials, which involves money I don't have. Unless a miracle happens, I don't think I'll be able to make this quilt for Deni's birthday. :(
