Thumbs up Black & White Quilt.

I am following a pattern for a black and white quilt and the instructions says Make 6 Strip Sets in 3 sets of 2 indentical strip sets. The strip set is Join 2 dark strips and 1 white strip together. I don't understan what this means...can anyone help me.

The long strips are sewn in the order of the blocks they will be cut into. Cut the strips the right width the whole length of the fabric and then sew them together. Like for example for a nine patch block you would sew 2 1/2" strips by the width of the fabric...a light fabric strip, dark fabric strip, light fabric strip for one set, Then a dark , light , dark for a second set sewn together. You sew the strips and then cut them into the 2 1.2" squares you need for the blocks. Then sew the blocks together to make up the nine patch block. See??

There will be three of each sewn strips that they are calling a strip set. So three of each colorway is six sets altogether.

I think it means: sew together three strips--black, white, black. Sew another set of three strips just like the first, using the same fabrics. Repeat twice more, using different blacks and whites. Now you have 6 total strip sets--3 sets each of two that are identical. You would be using six different black fabrics and three different whites.
