i have a question about the slider, i got one for Christmas, but i dont know how to put it on my machine ? duhhhh i know i have a hole in the middle of it for the needle to go thru but then the feed dogs dont work so i am thinking it is used only when the feed dogs are down ?? or if it is meant to be used while sewing all the time do i cut the hole bigger so the feed dogs will work ? ok here comes the ultimate question-does the mat go on long way like this l or sideway like this <----->
does this make since ?? i hope so

Do you mean the Supreme Slider? If so, I use mine with the feed dogs down and sideways.

I have one, but haven't used it yet! I know the feed dogs need to be down, and I would think positioning it with most of the space to the sides would give me more leverage for movement to do FMQ.

My feed dogs don't go down, so I use the slider to cover them while free motion quilting. Works fine for me. I set the stitch length to zero so they don't move.

That's a great idea to put the stitch length at zero. I had forgotten that my feed dogs were up one time when I used mine and I sewed on it. lol

I think I read that hint on this wonderful board! I don't think I'm clever enough to have thought of it myself!!!!

There were a couple of members who have also cut out the area where the feed dogs are and leave it on all of the time. :D:D:D
