I have a small sewing machine that has the name "FEATHERLITE" ( not Featherweight ) on the front of it and the numbers 0014586 on the back beside where the pressure foot lever is located. These numbers are on on a gold sticker that appears to be just glued on. It is a very small machine being 9 inches long, about 6 1/2 inches wide and and 9 1/2 inches high. It has a handle built into the top to carry it. It sits on little metal bars. The outer case appears to be all metal. On the stitch length it says de-luxe compact." Does anyone know who made this machine?

    Thank You. Betty

Yes I know about them. In fact, I have two of them.

They came on the market in the early to mid 1990's and were viewed as a substitute for the Singer Featherweight.
However, there were and are problems with them. They tend to lock up. One of mine is locked and you can't even use the hand to raise the needle. I have talked with local repair who will help me.
At the time I got them, a friend told me she knows how to get them working again. Aparantly it is easy to do.
When I have time to take it to the local repair I will learn how to do it. I intend to give them away but want to include information about this problem so the new owner can correct it if possible.
They look good and when work do well for a small machine.
    They were made in Taiawan.
