Default quilt block pattern for 2 matching 4patches, medium value

What would you suggest for a block pattern I could use incorporating two 4patches that are identical? The 4patches will use 2 1/2" candies. The 4patches are not particularly light or dark, just using contrasting prints using medium to dark-medium value in shades.

I got a free pre-cut pack of Boundless charms in an order from Craftsy, which contains two of each print, so I can actually have four 4patches that have the same Boundless fabric, although the other two candies would not be all the same fabric, as I'm drawing from 5" charms and 2 1/2" candies or strips I have on hand already cut. I haven't sewn the 4patches yet, so I can mix up candies with the Boundless charms, or I can sew the 4patches in sets of two, using one Boundless charm, and what I have on hand. And, of course, I could use the 4patches completely separately, not incorporated into one block, or I could mix up the Boundless fabric so it's not sewn matching. But with the pile of fabric I've selected, I can't make a set of 4 identical 4patches. Can't decide what to do...

Thanks for ideas! Any pictures of your suggestions would be appreciated. Here's one 4patch waiting for a decision for it's mates.

You could alternate the 4-patches with an hourglass block of 2 values (or colors, like white and red, or white and black). They would frame the 4-patches nicely. Something like this:

Oh, that's a great idea. It's something that was suggested to me when using a 9patch, and I think it would like nice with a 4patch too. Thank you.

You are most welcome. You also could put the blocks on point too - would be a different look. Be sure to post a picture of the finished quilt.

AmyBible, I found a block that will fulfill my goal to use four 4patches with the Boundless fabric!! The block uses eight four patches, which is fine. I ripped out my original 4patch because I decided to use pink on all the 4patches. So, I've added pink to the mix, which I didn't think I'd do orginally. I had a hard time deciding if I wanted to do a chain with the pinks, or not. In the end, I decided not, because I liked the secondary design when I turned the corner 4patches the other way. It's a big block! I think I'll only sew nine and have a square setting, but not sure at this point-- it might depend on what I decide to use for the backing. I don't have enough pink, so the pink will be scrappy, as I want to use what fabric that I already have. Anyway, the 4patches are scrappy too.

Wow! Great block. Love seeing quilts with big blocks - they assemble so quickly and seem less daunting than 12+ block quilts. That will be a beautiful quilt.
