Default nine patch and rail in two colors

Has anyone done a nine patch and rail quilt using only two fabrics? The pattern I am looking at has the blocks set on point, and I really like what I see, but the pattern is not in color, and I am trying to visualize the finished quilt. (I am not good at this visualizing part....) The blocks alternate, one 9 patch and one rail fence.

So, has anyone done one. Do you have a picture? Is this too difficult for an advanced beginner?

Thanks,
Dina

Nice in two colors, especially dark and light contrasts.
Very easy for beginning quilters.
Pick 2 and go for it! Try red and white, or navy and white, or light green and red, or blue and yellow, or pink and blue, for example.
Enjoy!

Jan, thanks. I have a nice stash, but not enough yardage to do a two fabric quilt. So....have to go shop. I am leaning towards navy and white, I think.

I think it would look great. Just choose two colors that contrast sharply.

Well, Dina, navy and white will be just gorgeous. If you don't have enough stash for yardage of ONE fabric, how about a navy and white quilt of many prints in those same colors. This gives the same effect as using just 2 different fabrics but adds the dimensions of depth, movement, and interest. I've done many quilts this way. Will see if I can find pics of some.

The hearts uses one background fabric and several reds/pinks for the hearts.
The purple uses one fabric for background and four purples for the blocks.

I think that the purples you have in the pic would be wonderful for the quilt actually but then again I am a purple person. and it should be real easy to do. but then again easy can be more difficult than the hard quilts.
