North Star by quilt in a day
#1
I was watching PBS yesterday and they had "Quilt in a Day" host on there. She was talking about the underground railroad blocks and made a "North Star" block, using a triangle of some sort. Has anyone seen this show? I typed in North Star but it wasnt the pattern she made. It kind of looked like a Mariners Compass with two different colors on the points and I think it had 6 "points"? I went to the qiad web site but couldnt find the video or pattern. Thanks!!

That doesnt look like the one she was making yesterday on PBS. Hate to order it if its not the pattern she was making. It talks about "flying geese" but I have patterns for those. Just hate to order the book if its not the right pattern but thank you SO much for checking for me!

I dont see the one in any of the pages I looked at just now.
The instructions were 2" x 20" of two different colors sewn together. Then you cut them into 8" lengths, folded that in half and used this triangle with the point at the top then down 3 7/8 (I think) and cut it so when you open it up it looked like half red/half white. You made I think 6 of these then filled in the spaces with blue. She didnt give exact measurements on TV but when it was done each point of the star was half red/half white like a Mariners compass but it looked easy. Thanks SO MUCH for helping me find it. Ive emailed her but havent heard back yet. THANK YOU!!!

Im sorry for the confusion. It is the third block from the left on the cover of her Barn quilts! Does anyone know how to get the pattern without buying the entire book? And what is the name of the "triangle" she used to cut the point?
Im sorry to be such a bother. Its not like I dont have tons of other patterns to make! :)
