I have started a quilt that takes fusible bias tape. It is so expensive and so few yardson the spool. Is there someplace that I can buy the bias less expensive. If not I will just have to abandon the quilt and I really like the design.

Why not make your own bias? It is really quite easy to do and you get to choose exactly the colour that you like. Then you could use fusible webbing on the back and you'll be good to go for way less than the store bought fusible webbing. Might take you a bit of time to get it all done but so worth it in my opinion.

I cut inch strips, sew with wrong sides together, then press the seams open. This becomes the bottom of the binding. I use the 1/4" steam a seam tape along the seam, and iron it in place. It is a lot easier than trying to turn the narrow tubes inside-out... or is it outside in?

Sometimes on places like ebay or etsy you can find bulk stash people are trying to get rid of, I have had lots of success getting deals online.Of course making it also will prevent the project getting abandoned.

Thank you very much for the suggestions. I am going to try them. I was just upset about the cost of the bias. I would never abandon the quilt just put it away till I read a suggestion on the quilt board. Thanks all you have saved the day.
