just a quick question- I don't have the book, but did it on my own,do you go from dark to light or can you just mix them all up, so there is some variation.I'm getting ready to put it all together.

Personally, I would do it the way I like it. I read the book, but I can't remember. My tendency is to like some contrast, so I would probably work towards having some contrast in the blocks, but that is just me. We are all different and have different preferences.

The book suggests that you sort the completed blocks by dominant color, then place the blocks on your design wall so the colors sort of flow. This is just a suggestion, and it's your quilt, so lay them out the way it pleases you. Only suggestion i have is if you can put them up vertically on a wall rather than on a bed or a table, you really do get a better perspective. they are really fun!
