Default pattern for pieced Christmas stocking

I have promised my family I will make new Christmas stockings this year. I have eight to make and want to do them by foundation piecing. Does anyone know of a free pattern I can download or how I can go about designing my own. TIA

Just use a stocking shape for the foundation then proceed like a crazy quilt. Start in the middle of the stocking and work out to the edges. Make the back of the stocking plain. Just add pieces to the front of the stocking.

Thanks, the problem I have is that I have never done any foundation piecing and am not sure how to go about it, Maybe I am thinking too hard and should just have a go at it.

Check you tube. There's a lot of tutorials there.

I agree with akisan, check out foundation piecing on you tube. Not really hard, but visual always helps me.

No help, but at my LQS they had adorable stockings made using the mini twister tool. I so want to do these. I plan to buy the pattern next time I am in there.

Here is a video for ideas. You can just make any quilt pattern you like then cut it out in a stocking shape.

Thanks to everyone great suggestions, managed to find a good foundation/crazy patch stocking on youtube, also liked some of the random/creative stockings but think I will go for the quiltinaday, she had some really nice (easy) stockings. As I said I have eight to make and I want them all to be different so I now have loads to work with. I really appreciate all your help
