Jerudy, I should probably get one locally b/c of classes. But everyone said they are both very user friendly so then I got to thinking that I'd be okay with it. But I don't know......
Not getting many bites on this post- I think I've beat this one to death lol :D

Well good luck with whatever you decide. I can't wait to hear the results and see your embroidery designs. We can compare notes.

Nah.....it's just early is all ;) I can tell you though at this point, you're probably only gonna get feedback from folks who either have a Janome or a Brother...LOL. Those with the Janome will prefer it and those with the Brother will prefer it. So......what's the difference in price? That makes a difference.

Gail, price difference isn't all that much. I think the Brother is a bit cheaper but I'm starting to forget everything lol :D

I have a Brother for class and have had Janome embroidery machine in the past. As to longevity of machines, I would bet on the Janome anytime. Currently, though my sewing/embroidery machine is the Babylock Ellisimo so am really unbiased.

Don't forget dealer support is very important.

Good luck and can't wait to see your first embroidery project!

I was talking to a friend the other day, and she told me she had purchased the Brother PE770 for her daughter! She said you could get the Brother at JoAnn's. It has a wide selection of designs, but about the bigger designs, I don't know.

I would go Brother, if I had to do again. I have the Janome 300E and have had a lot of bobbin trouble. I have heard there are many people with this same problem with Janomes. I'm shying away from Janome. Some love them, I'm not one of them. I do enjoy embroidering on items and personalizing them. It is a lot of fun!

I just have the Brother SE350, was lucky an found at Walmart on clearence for $189.00. Anyways, I am bad with computer stuff, but the Brother is SO easy to learn on. It came with a disk, to pop into your computer and watch, and that really helped me! I am sure both machines are nice!
