    Default Online ordering question

I received an email from Piercing the Past Quilts and they have a deal...well at least I think it's a deal for a monthly fat quarter club in civil war fabrics . Price is about $3 per fat quarter. Since I don't have a stash of these types of fabrics, I thought this would be a good way to start. But.....I am wondering about the quality of the fabric. Has anyone ordered from this site?
    thanks

That's a wonderful website. I've ordered from them and have been very happy.
I have a BOTM from last fall that I still haven't done. It was free. I'm sure they offer them at other times as well.

Piecing the Past is one of my favorite shops. I’ve participated in many of their programs.

That is a good price and I got their e-mail today but haven't read it yet. I have never ordered from them but they have well known fabrics from Jo Morton, Kim Diehl and other designers.

I have never gotten fabric from them but participate in their free block of the week. The last few quilts have been a combination of applique and piecing. Prior to that it was just piecing. They have a FaceBook page and are very responsive to questions. If their fabric is anything like the service they give to the block of the week questions I wouldn't hesitate. I haven't purchased fabric from them because I already had more than enough fabric to start with.

$3 a fat quarter equals $12 per yard for fabric. This does not seem like a deal to me. Also, if you have to pay shipping (even with USPS) that makes it a silly price. The new premium quilt vintage and retro fabrics at Joanns are around $12.99 per yard - using a coupon or when on sale is a much better deal.

When you add shipping, that's close to $4 per FQ. I've often wondered if clubs like these use the club to get rid of their poorer-selling fabrics. I once signed up for FQ from Keepsake Quilting, and they were the ugliest fabrics I'd ever seen. Needless to say, I canceled membership immediately.

Piecing the Past is a very reputable company. The fabrics they sell are authentic Civil War reproductions... high quality by well known designers and manufacturers.
