Ube , yes I would make it for a girl and add brite pink. I love it.I think some boys and men look good in a purple or pink shirt. I am just trying to convince my grandson.

Why not ask the mom? I think it's better to make what she likes, rather than try to surprise her. Some people might be hung up on the little pink bits, while others might not mind at all. I agree that the other fabrics in the quilt would set the tone. It's so cute!

It's cute fabric and could be for both a boy or a girl. If you're not really feeling this fabric, look at the northcott stonehenge undersea. No pinks or purples, but lots of orange, green and yellow colors just like your turtles.

They also have a cute whimsical dino roar fabric with carton dinos and it does have purple in it. Dinos can be both boy or a girl, but to me just scream, boy.

I have to disagree. Some parents would not want any pink for a boy. Blue for a girl is alright (we are always the accommodating ones). I have a quilt that I made to be neutral--I used aqua, green, and yellow. It was all batiks, but had 2 squares that were a pinky purple. I took it into my LQS to get border fabric, my friend who works there said, "oh, they are having a girl". Then I found out that the baby it was meant for was a boy. I had my daughters and DIL vote and out of 4 votes only one was neutral. I would be very careful, you don't want the parents to put the quilt in a closet and never use it. JMHO By the way the fabric is very pretty.

In my world boys are allowed to like all colors. Babies love bright colors and this would be perfect.

Make that quilt! I'm a Media Specialist at a a middle/high Christian school. Brights are in for all ages. I've seen pink shirts, pink Keds, multi print shoes with pink in them, pink socks, pink shorts etc. on guys. With all sports having games using pink stuff in their game uniforms to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research pink is an accepted, mainstream color. I'd pick up the bright blue, red and yellow in the borders and other blocks. I've seen some great multicolored stripe fabrics that would go great with it too.

I think if you add the blues and reds as sashing, borders, that it would be fine. But, like the others, I think it would be best to ask the mom for her opinion.

I think it depends on how you use it. I have used a very similar fabric with a royal blue background to make a giant friendship star on a boy's quilt. If you are not adding pink, it should be fine.
