I've used buttons on some of the baby quilts I have done. They were meant to be used as heirloom quilts or quilts where it was used in a photo with the baby. Many mothers that I gifted the quilts to actually ended up using them for wall hangers.

No, they would be cute, but a VERY big risk of choking!...

nope. they would be sure to get it off and swallow. same with toddlers or up to 3-4 yr olds. they do not realize what can happen, they still stick breans in their noses and ears, so you take it from there. wallhang would be very different, but then again, Mom might decide to use it if big enough.

I agree. I would not put buttons on a quilt meant for any child under 3-4 years old. Too dangerous.

buttons should never be added to a childs quilt...they are a choking hazard. especially children under 5===but older ones have been known to chew on things like that too.

No to buttons but if you are looking for something textural, how about yo yo's, 3d pinwheels or Prairie pts... or even textured fabrics like baby corduroy, minkiee, flannel, fleece etc.

I'm sure you'll get lots of advice here.
