I would make a D9P using 5 inch squares with the white in the center, the B Bears prints in the outer corners of the 9 patch and I would use the gold for the other squares. That way the B Bears fabrics will not be cut again when the 9 patch disappears! With the stacked coin pattern the bears will be cut to pieces.

You could also use the Attic Windows pattern and use the yellow and another color for the sashes and highlight the bears in the windows.

This is exactly what I had in mind too. I'm starting a baby quilt with three fabrics; the focus print will be in the four corners because I don't want them cut when cutting for the D9P.

With D9P, you could adjust your block sizes to see more of the print ... or could fussy cut the specific pictures in the print.

If doing the D9P, you might want to use the yellow on the front ... or other contrasting colours for the stripped pieces and smaller squares that will be formed when you cut it up.

And too, there are LOTS of other patterns to consider to show off this lovely print.
The first I think about would be a snowball pattern or variation of it.
I agree. I love the D9P. You could use the yellow for the center block only and then for the backing. I agree that the blocks would need to be larger, perhaps 5 or 6 inches. The snowball is a good one.If you add another fabric, perhaps warm wishes would work as well.

Well I wasn't going to show you what pattern I chose until I was done but I am just too excited. I went with the Double Slice Layer Cake! Since DD was in a good mood today, I actually got all the block done and the layout ready!

Here it is! I hope to get the rows together at least tonight. Don't mind Rescue, the first row tried to escape so she was holding it down for me. lol Um, glad I took a picture and posted it, I need to move some blocks around, too much red at the top and none on the bottom.

I'd go with using the bears as the focus fabric of the D9P, with the yellow as the part that becomes the long strips and the white as the part that ends up as small squares. That would show off the fabrics to the best advantage in my opinion.

oops! Didn't see the picture of what you chose to do till I'd already posted my reply. Love how you did it. Looks great!

Your Bernstein Bears need to be seen and making little blocks with tiny pieces will not show off your fabric. Even the BQ pattern would be great.
That would be a great pattern for this fabric!
