I also agree with this idea. Nice blocks!

So make one quilt with the white and floating blocks. Then the other with the purple sashing blocks. Luann

Beautiful blocks! Although I like them without sashing, I would also like the purple sashing if it was more narrow. They are too wide in the second pictures and IMHO distract from the lovely blocks.

I love purple and I love your blocks. Whatever you do, you'll have two beautiful quilts.

With that said, I think I'd use narrow black sashing to really pop those purple centers.

The extra color really snaps it up. I love the new look. Go with it!

I don't think your blocks look dull at all! I am a purple lover, and either way you go will look quite good. I have gone back and forth between your pictures and can't pick a favorite.

Just wanted to let you know your blocks are beautiful!

I like the purple strips but would use just one fabric instead of several.

I love your blocks. For me, while I like the look of both ways, the wide look of the sash/border distracted my eyes from the beautiful block. If it were me, and I chose to use the border, it would be a very narrow strip. As suggested by others you could always do one floating and narrow sash with for the other. I wish you a lot of luck deciding. It's going to be lovely with those blocks for sure. I hope you show the end results when you're finished.

Thanks to all for the suggestions and comments. I have to do the wide and narrow on the different blocks, in order to make them all fit together at the end. I am still leaning toward replacing the white sashing pieces with colored, and as LavendarBlue said, I may try just one fabric for the sashings. I will play around with a light and a dark and get back later for more opinions.

I like it without the purple sashing. We all have our own taste. I hope we did not totally confuse you . The block are very pretty. I like purple.
