Default Ordering fabric online

I’m wanting to order fabric online but idk where to order from... I don’t want to order from the local craft stores.... I was hoping I could get it directly from the fabric company, in hopes of getting it a little cheaper.

Where do you guys order from when you order a big selection?

There's a great 4 page discussion of on-line shops here.

Highly unlikely any commercial fabric company sells direct unless you are a quilt shop with a reseller license/business tax ID and buying very large quantities (as in bolts and bolts of it).

mkc is right about cost and availability and needing a TAX ID and one that shows you do mostly quilt or sewing related work. There are a number of places online that discount fabrics. I do most of my shopping online anymore and I have only 2x ordered from a fabric and craft store. Follow the thread mentioned above for a whole lot information on buying online.

These are some of the online stores I buy fabric from, Marshall's Dry Goods, Quilted Twins, Jhittle, Thousands of Bolts. These all have great prices and customer service. I've never had any complaints with the fabrics I've received from any of these.

I have a friend who owns a fabric store. She has to buy fabric from distributors and sales reps; even SHE can't get fabric directly from the manufacturer. There are minimums which would be very difficult for a domestic user/buyer to hit.

I really like Hancocks of Paducah, Missouri Star, Fabric.com and Fabrichut.com. Unfortunately, all of them offer retail prices unless it is a sale item. As you can see from the other comments, it's not cheaper online even by the bolt.

I've had very good luck with buying from the FB group "SewItsForSale" - lots of private and business sellers selling lovely fabric at great prices.

I have ordered from Fabric.com, MSQC, and Marshall's Dry Goods and have had great luck on receiving what I want and quick in receiving it.
