Does anyone here get tired of quilting and find yourself stepping away from quilting, a day or a week or so?

You betcha! I start a project and get stuck in the middle. I often find after a good night's sleep, when I step back into the project, I have newer, better ideas. Often, things actually go my way!

Absolutely! Sometimes things just pile up and it seems like too much hard work.

I agree with stepping back for a day or two, or even longer. Sometimes you need fresh eyes to regain your enthusiasm for a project, or sometimes you need to put it in a drawer and work on something else that's fun and enjoyable and quick.

:-)

Yup, do it all the time!
Sometimes you just have to give it a rest

YEP! Going thru that right now! I was working on a quilt lastnight, got frustrated and haven't started in again yet, I probably will start in on it again tonight though!

I get the "lazies" and I just talk about quilting or read magazines. Then the fabric calls to me and I head into my sewing room.

I barely walked into the sewing room from Christmas till the middle of May. But I finally got over it and now I am there several hours a day.

Me too. Sometimes I need to just give it a rest for a while and then it calls again and I'm off and running.

OMG do i.

writers are known to say "i hate writing but i love having written" well thats how i feel about quilting most of the time.

as an artist you constantly try to learn new techniques or improve upon a skill and this requires hard work, lots of time, and much frustration.

i repeatedly go thru a love/hate/love relationship with my quilts. when i'm designing them i fall in love with the concept and the fabric, then when i'm pushing my artistic limits i fall in hate with the quilt.

by the time i'm done with the quilt i've been pushed to my limit and i just want to burn the quilt in the firepit outside.

then as a few weeks pass i fall madly in love with the quilt again. all the little flaws that drove me nuts aren't visible any longer and i'm happy again.

so yes - i hate quilting but i love having quilted!
