My husband use to have Captain's meetings in Paducah. I would go with him and never got into "much" trouble!! I didn't know you could sew at Quilt in a Day!! Darn...too bad he's not with the same company!!! Of course when we went he drove..I just drove around Paducah. I say go for it!!!! I did drive with two other ladies to the show in '10. IT was awesome!!! I don't know how far it was...but it took us over 10 hours to get there. that's about what it use to take my husband to drive home from there and he only stops for gas!!!

Of course you should go but(and I can't believe no one else thought of this) get "The Quilter's Catalog and plan your drive by quilt shops!!! If you don't have one the library perobably does. OR!!!!!!go to the fab shop hop online and check addresses for the quilt shops OR!!!!!!!go to the library and check phone books for quilting stores. You can email the quilt stores and ask for directions and they may even tell you where there are other quilt stores!!!!!!!!!!!!!Before I used to sew everything and as I hit each town I would check for fabric stores, after awhile it's in the air. I went to Pawleys Island with some friends one year and my first purchase was of course fabric. One of my friends came in and saw the fabric being put into a sack and remarked that we had gone all this way for vacation and I bought fabric and it wasn't a fabric store. YOU GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When opportunity knocks, always answer the door. Go for it and have fun.

I'm in Greenville, SC, and if I didn't already have quilt show plans for this weekend I'd offer to keep you company on the drive!

Remember, you never hear in a eulogy, "Wished she would have stayed home and cleaned the house more often."

Get the car warmed up and go!

I have the opportunity to go to Paducah to do nothing but play for a week and I'm trying to talk myself out of it or into it. Hubby is going there to work all week so his company pays for the hotel. However, I can't go with him today for a number of reasons, which means that I will have to drive the 550 miles alone tomorrow and back on Sunday.
Some of my reasons not to go...
Very long drive alone
It's sin city for quilters, right? I could get in serious trouble there??
I'm just getting over a flu bug
there's much to do here

Some of my reasons to go...
I've wanted to go to Paducah for a long time
Temptations there - can I stay out of (quilter) trouble (mostly!!)
spending some time with hubby
I could sit and sew at Quilt in a Day on a great machine for the day for $5!

Ok...now you can help me either get in trouble or stay out of trouble! :-)

Is there anyway you could hop a plane a fly down and then ride back with hubby? With the price of gas and you not feeling on top of things, that might be an idea.

OK-how about a one way airplane ticket and ride back with your husband.
Never miss a chance to go...remember opportunity does not knock twice... you will always wish you had gone
