I went with a glossy white. It reflects the most light, and I need light to see what I am doing. You can always play with accents in your room then, and change them out when the spirit moves you! :-) I hang a lot of quilts on the walls of my room, white seems to work with all of them then! Enjoy, nothing beats a fresh newly painted room to give you inspiration to get creative!

Mine is a shade of white with just a tiny touch of lavender. It looks like very pale purple in bright daylight and later in the day turns to a soft pale grey with a hint of the purple....it's never the same color from hour to hour and I love that!

As others have said, it's your room do what makes you happy. I once painted a bedroom ceiling with just a hint of blue for the sky. Loved that room...it was in Seattle, so I could imagine blue sky even on a gray day.

Mine is a granny smith apple green and I love it! It's so cheery and energizing.

I personally think it depends on the lighting in your room. White or off-white are my choices. I have full spectrum (daylight) lighting in my sewing room and I wanted to paint my walls a soft yellow, but it would alter my perception of the true fabric colors so i opted to stay with white.

I'm in agreement with Prims99's post.
