That is how I would do it - and if that would not be square, try squaring it up within that wide piece of Gold. Then you could disguise any problems with creative use of sham borders or peepers.

I would even out the sides to the best of your ability, and then add the borders, start with a dark border.

Right, and I even go so far as to wash the panel, starch it heavily, pin it "square" and let it dry that way, then finish up the making/quilting process. After you get it made and wash it again, it ought to stay pretty much squared up.

i had this happen to me resently. am doing a lot of free motion on fabric panels. i cut off the entire border and used a black binding on it after quilting. turned out great and looked even better than it would have with the border on.

I would try blocking the center and try to get to squared up. Spray it with water and pin it to a board . Do your pinning olong the line where the black and white meet. It should work

The panel and fabrics are beautiful! Good luck with whatever solution you try and then please post a picture.

I use a lot of panels and I cut it with a 1/4 seam allowance then put couping strips around it to make it even, then go from there, the last one I did I put 1 1/2" on top and bottom and 2 1/2" on the sides. it works for me. hope it helps

I also bought panels and found them to be off too. No amount of starching and stretching when I ironed helped, so I just did the best I could and when it was done, it didn't really show that much. Good luck!
I agree. :-D

I would put the line of the ruler on the gold line and cut 1/4 to 1/2 inch out from there. Then add borders. That should help straighten it out.
