I am planning to make a lap quilt with a panel in the center.....any pictures or sites out there that will give me ideas for what to put around it? Would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I usually pick put borders around the panel using one or two colors from the panel.

Depending on how much space you have, you do more than just borders. I have an upcoming one that will have flying geese in a small panel and maybe some small log cabin blocks, too.

Go to the round/row robin section of the board & look at the photos. There are some beautiful ones there & some used panels for their center. I've gotten some great ideas from there.

One of the quickest & easiest ways to use your panel is to do large strips I use 5" wide and do it log cabin style. I will also use some 2" or 3" strips so it does not look boring. Rather then using different fabrics I go around the panel with all four logs the same fabric. You can also vary the logs. I have also done blocks and assembled them around the panel.

Good luck and have fun. Play with it to see what grabs you.
