Default Help with applique

I am appliqueing some roosters that will later be quilted. On some parts, like the beak, the color is yellow and it is lighter then the background fabric--so the background shows through the beak. Is there something that can be applied to the light colored fabric so the background (or shadows) don't show through? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Cut a matching piece of white fabric. Make it just a bit smaller than the yellow all the way around. Put a dab of fabric safe glue on the back of the yellow and put the two pieces together.

My LQS has a lining material that helps block the color coming thru- I don't know the name I just go in and explain what I am looking for It is also used for sewing/making clothes , sorry I can't give you the name but it goes between the fabric and wunder under or whatever you are using as a stabilzer
