Default One thing I love about my LQS...

I went today and picked out 4 different fabrics to add to my stash, got a yard each. One of the fabric I had picked out had some fabric wrapped around it from another bolt so she just said it was just enough but didn't say how much over. It was about 15" more, yes 15" more and she only charged me for the 1 yard....and it was a $14/yd fabric! I knew it was more but she didn't fully measure it after the yard, just said that is the perk of getting the end of the bolt. I just measured it and it is 51"! They may not have a big selection and I don't get to go often but their customer service is great. They don't bug me when I go in, just let me look.

It has been a while since I went in but my Mom was in town and I wanted her to help me pick out some fabric. So DH took DD to get her haircut while we went shopping! Mom was impressed at how nice they were and the selection. Like I said, it isn't huge but the selection is wonderful.

Love mine too, how awesome for you. IMHO they are worth a few extra dollars sometimes

My LQS also gives end of bolt perks. I empty quite a few for her ;-) She appreciates the shelf space she gains. Her shop is quite small.

I believe in small business! It's what made this country, and might just be what we need now to help get us going. Cheaper prices are not all there is to consider. If someone in a chain did that, they might get in big trouble. I love all my locals!

And to be honest, their prices aren't really that bad. Most are about $10.95/yd. The one that I was for $14/yd was 55" wide. The rest were $10.95/yd.

I would love to go more often but I don't like taking DD so unless I have spare time when she is at MDO, I don't get to go. And with summer almost here, I decided to take the chance to go today while my Mom was here and DH said he would take DD to get her haircut.
