Default Pattern and fabric

I am making a king size quilt for my daughter in law. This is my 4th quilt and I feel like I have a lot to learn yet! She wanted a quilt in black and brown. I put together different fabric and came up with the attachment. Someone mentioned that with the mix in fabric, I will lose the pattern. King size really scares me and I think i maybe should have went with a simpler pattern (this is a lot of sewing), and I am willing to change the pattern if it would be for the best. I really want it to be special and I'm just afraid that I will get it done and it wont have the wow factor. I would appreciate any thoughts and suggestions.

I like it as is! You have enough value difference so the pattern shows. It will be beautiful. Just squint to see the impact.

hmmm... I love it. The person who thought you would lose the pattern will be amazed when it's finished and you have a lovely pattern and a lovely quilt.

I think it is fabulous! When I read your post prior to viewing the picture, I couldn't imagine a black and brown quilt. But your picture just says "WOW"!!!!!
