Default Very Narrow Strips

Can anyone suggest an organization that I can contact that might use very narrow strips. These are from about 1/2" - 1" and width of fabric (some a bit wider). They are cuttings from edges of fabric for strip (Jelly Rolls). I hate to toss them if there is a use. I thought of making crocheted rugs. Any leads will be appreciated.

I don't know of any. I use 3/4" to 1" strips for making small projects and bags. Couldn't you use the 1/2" for crafts?

you can post your strips in the Offers section and I'm sure someone on the board will want them for the cost of postage

Offer............or clip them 1 1/2 inch or so, put them in a mesh bag (onion sack) and hang them out next spring for the birds.

You can clip them randomly, arrange on dissolving fabric or netting and free motion quilt all over them, making a new fabric.

check with a local guild, senior center, scout groups - even the public school art department.
i use strips that size for hooking rugs- and lots of (groups) do so also- there may be some ladies at the senior center (or a convelescent home/assisted living facility) that would love the strips to crochet into rugs or other items- i give alot of small scraps to the local pre-school & elementary school- the teachers are always grateful (& very creative) with donations- the 4-H & scout groups are pretty creative too- and appreciate donations (if you find the right person)

Twist them around rope to make those neat baskets or bags.

Thanks all. You have given me a bunch of possibilities for "re-purposing". I'll start making calls.
