Default Pattern ideas

I have a Kaffee Fassett layer cake which I love. I'm trying to find a pattern to accentuate to beauty of the fabric. I am what I consider a beginner but like a challenge. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Go to Pinterest or Google and put in Kaffee Fassett quilts to give you an idea of what you may like. They make beautiful quilts out of that fabric!

What about something like this http://ludlowquiltandsew.co.uk/free-...quilt-pattern/ I'm sure there are other patterns out there just using squares

I find inspiration when I Google a particular line of fabric to see what other quilters have pieced using the fabric. I have been quilting for over 25 years and Kaffee Fassett prints are all so BOLD and bright you have to find something calm to add to his vivid prints.

I made this quilt from Kaffee Fassett material. It was a video from you tube. Here is my post

The Kaffe quilts I think are most stunning blend color and pattern with very little or no background or "calm". Everyone's taste will vary, but I think that his fabrics are best showcased like the equivalent of a mixed flower border in full bloom, with just a riot of color. I do like either a hot or cool palette, not necessarily a full rainbow spectrum mixed up in one quilt.

A quilter who I think is pro at this type of quilt blogs at Exuberant Color. Of course if I linked you here, I would get my hand smacked for trying to promote something, so I guess you will just have to google if you'd like to see her take on Kaffe Fasset.

You could search on Pinterest for Kaffe Fasset -- I for one have a board devoted to ideas that I'm holding on to for when I finally get around to cutting into my treasured stash of his fabrics.

Your quilt turned out wonderful and very calm. I don't think I have seen one made quite like that with KF fabrics, and it is very nice.

I am making a KF fabric quilt in red, orange and pink, of course there are other colors because his fabrics have other colors in them. There are other Westminster fabrics in it too and a couple other designers. This is it in progress. Get your sunglasses on! It has 3 more rows to be sewn on, I just haven't done it yet. I love this, that is why I made it.lol

I just think with KF it is what you like, so give what you like a try.

That's really fun. I love his fabric and have a lot sitting on my shelf I need to use.
