Pattern instructions for a Windmill Block by Pink Caramel
Hello all...I have been searching for the Windmill Quilt block or instructions for a while now but still not able to find it or any shop that might sell the pattern. I'm not quite a beginner quilter but I'm not exactly beyond intermediate either. I just love the look of the block and would love to make a summer quilt using it. The Pink Caramel blog said it had a free pattern, but it isn't on there any longer. Can anyone help?

There's a drawing on Pinterest how she drew her pattern.
Draw it on graph paper then add your seam allowance.
Hope you like partial seams because that's how each
block is made. <gulp>

The block will be tricky because of the angles. I drew it out in EQ7 as a 4 inch finished block. The only way I could show the pieces was to do it as foundation piecing which ending up being templates.

I've made some practice blocks of this pattern. You need to use partial seams, but it's not too bad. Cut the pieces, then (referring to Barb's pic) Partially sew the red triangle to the center square: Start at the corner of the square and sew about half of one side of the square. Next add the Dk green triangle, no partial seam for this one, sew it to the center square and the red triangle. Same with the lt green and brown patches. Then finish the red seam.
