    Default quilt block name

    I have a quilt block that I need help in squaring up, but I need the name.
    Half the block is a half square triangle, the other half is a quarter square triangle. I make the block a little bigger and need to square up.

    Yes that is the one. I want to make the twin star or it is also called spinning star quilt block and this is one of the units of the block. I think there is a trick to squaring it up, but don’t know what it is.

    I believe it's called half split triangle and I explained how to square it up here.

    Oh thank you so much! I tried squaring as if it was just a half square triangle and it wasn’t working. I think when they show how to make this block that extra step should be explained.

    I've seen it named the 'Boston Block.' Or 4patch HST.
