I just returned from a lovely visit with my son in Utah. He guided me through many trails of the breathtaking areas of Zion National Park, Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon, the Canyonlands, Brian Head, etc. One evening we had dinner at "The Pizza Factory" in Cedar City. Great pizza as well as the service! On one wall in the restaurant hung a stained glass scene depicting the "Delicate Arch" of Arches National Park. (This is the arch on the Utah license plate.) I would love to make a wall hanging or lap-size quilt of this particular scene. Can anyone advise me how to create such a pattern? I thought of just tracing a picture of it onto paper and use the applique method. Any suggestions???? Or perhaps, does anyone know of such a pattern on the market? (While in Cedar City, I found "Granny's Quilt Shop" and purchased several fat quarters in the shades of the different land formations with thoughts of this new project.)
Thanking you in advance for any help/advice you can give me.
-Pat :) :) :)

Do a google search for Delicate Arch Utah images...might give you some ideas. No quilt pattern found, but several images and photo's.

Pat,
Don't forget to share the finished quilt with us. I'll be interested in seeing it since I too fell in love with Arches when we visited. Course, those are some of my favorite colors so it was to be expected.
