Default Perfect Reason for Washing Quilt before you gift it. . . .

I finished up this quilt tonight and put it thru the washer and dryer. I checked the front and back for any threads and such. I wanted to give it to my classmate tomorrow BUT... when I folded it up to put it in the gift bag, I saw that the only block on my pieced back had frayed and came apart at the seam! I think you could have heard my gasp in the next city!

It is too late tonight to do anything about it but I know that I have quite a task tomorrow to get this fixed. I am just so glad that I washed it and found this area before giving it as a gift.

(colors aren't true, probably not enough lights on!)

I'm sorry that happened to your quilt, I hope you can fix it. Your quilt has some pretty colors, and your roommate should really love it.

Looks like a good spot for a cute little applique.

That is heart breaking. Do you know how you will fix it? Could you let us know how it turns out.

So sorry this happened. Yes, very good reason to wash before gifting.
